JON - Drums & percussion
THE BAND
Jon is our maker! Jon set out on a mission to form 80s Replay in December 2021 - it's a good job he's patient!
Jon has loved 80s music all of his life, and uses elements of synthesisers and futuristic styles in his own compositions.
Jon has played the drums for over 30 years - he's even able to throw in additional percussion lines over the top!
Jon has his own drum tuition business too, with his eldest student being 79 years young!
JAMES - Electric guitar, classical guitar and keyboard
James enjoys 80s movies, especially Arnold Schwarzenegger movies.
If you've seen James, it's no surprise that he is also a Strongman competitor like ol' Arnie - James even holds regional titles (this is really handy for lifting the heavy PA equipment!).
James also has his own business, which means he has plenty of flexibility to walk his big dogs and carry out his multitude of hobbies.
MIKE - Bass guitar
Mike is the best bass player in East Anglia (or the world?) - end of discussion! He's able to learn complicated riffs in minutes, yet he's so humble!
Mike has previously also played the electric guitar for the band.
Mike is an avid gamer, and has been known to squander hours behind the screen, however he also works incredibly hard for the NHS within a Mental Health team. so we will let him off!
Mike probably also has the best beard in East Anglia (or the world?).
Jamie is a Composer / Sound Designer by background; he's produced music for Doctor Who, and contributed to theatre shows and productions at the Edinburgh Fringe. Jamie's latest work can be heard in the Netflix show 'Bad Dinosaurs'.
Jamie has an array of synthesisers at his disposal, and each keyboard is meticulously programmed to provide the authentic sounds of the songs you'll hear us play. He's also our go-to-guy for sound check and all things tech!
JAMIE - Synthesizers / Keyboards
Bethany also has experience in theatre productions, however has mostly sang as a hobby! Previously Bethany provided backing vocals and harmonies in 80s Replay, but has recently stepped forward to share the set with Jason. Her mezzo-soprano range means that you can dance with somebody whilst she sings you some Whitney Houston!
Bethany is a speech and language therapist supporting adults with learning disabilities in the working week, and her sessions can often include singing - luckily nobody has turned their nose up to an 80s song yet!
